3 ways to instantly
improve your website
A website is necessary in business today. If you don’t have a website, you are essentially invisible. Studies show that 70-80% of people research a company online before visiting a small business or making a purchase with them. That’s HUGE! So let’s dive into some of the ways you can instantly improve your website.
Dedicate one colour to elements you want your visitors to interact with. We’re talking links, buttons, anything you want the visitor to click. Make sure you don’t use that colour for anything else. No backgrounds, no accents, nothing. This makes it easier for visitors to differentiate clickable text and graphics from regular ones.
Use images to break up big blocks of text. Lots of text is visually unappealing. Most visitors will find an entire page of text daunting and overwhelming. Personally, reading a lot of text puts me to sleep, so I tend to skim over long pieces. Adding images that support your topic provide some much needed balance.
Put your face on your website! People do business with people they know, like, and trust. If a visitor lands on your page and they can’t find info or photos about the team, they will immediately lose trust in the company. They will most likely leave your site, never to return.
Remember, your website is for and about your customers and their experience. When they land on your home page, it’s like a guest arriving at your front door. You want them to feel welcome. They are visiting because they have a problem that they are hoping you can help them solve. Stop trying to grab their wallet and just concentrate on what you can do to help.
